In this event, more than 100 or more men pushing and pulling large handcrafted wooden carts around the city’s streets. The Kijshiwada Danjiri festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday before Respect for the Aged Day. At night, you can enjoy the Parade of lantern-lit Danjiris. A must-see attraction in Osaka.
There are other Danjiri festivals in other cities in Japan, but this one at Kishiwada is the most grandiose one and attracts many locals and tourists to the city each year.
It’s a must-see event in Osaka prefecture. It includes dancing, singing, traditional Japanese clothing, beautifully designed wooden danjiris, and a fantastic cheerful and vibrant atmosphere. One Japanese local told me that this is the best festival in entire Japan.
